In January last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Master to Master: The Nelson Shanks Collection, which included the work A woman, her hands clasped, looking down to the right by Annibale Carracci. The »bidding war« ended at USD 25,200.00 (€ 22,475.92), 68% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Annibale Carracci achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Madonna And Child With Saint Lucy And The Young Saint John The Baptist in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 6,063,500.00 (€ 5,438,604.36).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 68 % übertroffen
Im Januar letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master to Master: The Nelson Shanks Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit A woman, her hands clasped, looking down to the right von Annibale Carracci zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 25.200,00 (€ 22.475,92) und damit 68% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Annibale Carracci erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Madonna And Child With Saint Lucy And The Young Saint John The Baptist im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.063.500,00 (€ 5.438.604,36).
