This artwork by Annibale Carracci achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in January 2021. In the Old Master Drawings auction, the work Study of a monk sold for USD 21,420.00 (€ 17,651.42) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Annibale Carracci achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Madonna And Child With Saint Lucy And The Young Saint John The Baptist in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 6,063,500.00 (€ 5,438,604.36).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 79 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Annibale Carracci erzielte im Januar 2021 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Drawings wurde die Arbeit Study of a monk für USD 21.420,00 (€ 17.651,42) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Annibale Carracci erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Madonna And Child With Saint Lucy And The Young Saint John The Baptist im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.063.500,00 (€ 5.438.604,36).
