ANNETTE KELM (B.1975) Untitled, 2013 chromogenic print, flush-mounted on Diasec signed in ink on affixed gallery label and numbered '4/6' plus 2 AP (flush mount, verso) image/sheet/flush mount: 16 1/4 x 20 in. (41 x 51 cm.) This work is number four from an edition of six, plus two artist proofs.
Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled, 2013 by Annette Kelm was auctioned at Christies in New York in October this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,260.00 (€ 1,192.28). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Annette Kelm achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Anonymous, Lilac Clock Bag Buffalo Exchange. in November 2014 with an auction result of EUR 25,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled, 2013 von Annette Kelm im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.260,00 (€ 1.192,28) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Annette Kelm erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Anonymous, Lilac Clock Bag Buffalo Exchange. im November 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 25.000,00.
