In May 2002 Christies in London held the auction IMPORTANT PORTRAIT MINIATURES, GOLD BOXES & OBJECTS OF VERTU, which included the work The Hon. Elizabeth Cockayne, facing right in white dress, gem-set gold brooch at corsage, gold-bordered green, orange and blue stole draped around her shoulders, drop pearl earring, her dark curled hair upswept; blue curtain background by Anne Mee. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,015.75 (€ 1,590.68), 27% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anne Mee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Captain And Lieutenant-Colonel Thomas Grosvenor (1764-1851) in April 2008 with an auction result of GBP 19,700.00 (€ 25,114.72).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 27 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion IMPORTANT PORTRAIT MINIATURES, GOLD BOXES & OBJECTS OF VERTU durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Hon. Elizabeth Cockayne, facing right in white dress, gem-set gold brooch at corsage, gold-bordered green, orange and blue stole draped around her shoulders, drop pearl earring, her dark curled hair upswept; blue curtain background von Anne Mee zur Versteigerung kam.
