Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2007 Christies in London held the auction Important Portrait Miniatures and Gold Boxes, which included the work A young lady called Mrs Walter Jones, in white dress with puffed sleeves, pearl brooch at corsage, pearl necklace, her fair hair upswept in ringlets by Anne Mee. It changed hands for a price of GBP 750.00 (€ 1,050.19) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anne Mee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Captain And Lieutenant-Colonel Thomas Grosvenor (1764-1851) in April 2008 with an auction result of GBP 19,700.00 (€ 25,114.72).
