Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2003 Christies in London held the auction Old Master Pictures and Drawings, which included the work A mountainous landscape with a ruined tower in the foreground by Anicet-Charles-Gabriel Lemonnier. The price achieved of GBP 352.50 (€ 499.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anicet-Charles-Gabriel Lemonnier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Reading Of Voltaire'S Tragedy "L'Orpheline De La Chine" In The Salon Of Madame Geoffrin in February 2013 with an auction result of USD 116,500.00 (€ 89,074.09).
