Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2017 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art, which included the work The Plastic Guns - Violence For Beginner by Angki Purbandono. The price achieved of HKD 32,500.00 (€ 3,836.16) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 20,000.00 – 40,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Angki Purbandono - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Golden Dragon (Noodle Theory Series), which sold at auction in May 2012 for HKD 106,250.00 (€ 11,068.42).
