This artwork by Andy Warhol achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in April 2008. In the Prints And Multiples auction, the work Shoes (F. & S. 256) sold for USD 67,000.00 (€ 43,037.00) - well above the upper estimate of USD 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Andy Warhol erzielte im April 2008 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Prints And Multiples wurde die Arbeit Shoes (F. & S. 256) für USD 67.000,00 (€ 43.037,00) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 35.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andy Warhol erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shot Sage Blue Marilyn im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 195.040.000,00 (€ 181.753.797,41).
