Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Marilyn Monroe (Marilyn) by Andy Warhol was sold in the Prints & Multiples auction at Christies in New York in October 2018. The price achieved of USD 100,000.00 (€ 88,245.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
