Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Venus And Vulcan; Venus And Adonis by Andrea Locatelli was sold in the The Road to Rome: Property from a Distinguished Italian Private Collection, Part I auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 125,000.00 (€ 115,398.82) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Andrea Locatelli have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Roman Forum in January 2012 with an auction result of USD 1,082,500.00 (€ 829,311.27).
