This artwork by Andrea Locatelli achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2018. In the Old Masters Day Sale auction, the work Apollo and Daphne; and Latona turning the Lycian peasants into frogs sold for GBP 47,500.00 (€ 52,919.21) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andrea Locatelli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Roman Forum in January 2012 with an auction result of USD 1,082,500.00 (€ 829,311.27).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 90 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Andrea Locatelli erzielte im Dezember 2018 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Masters Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Apollo and Daphne; and Latona turning the Lycian peasants into frogs für GBP 47.500,00 (€ 52.919,21) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 25.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andrea Locatelli erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Roman Forum im Januar 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.082.500,00 (€ 829.311,27).
