This artwork by Andrea Locatelli achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2014. In the Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale auction, the work A capriccio with classical ruins and figures resting by a fountain in the foreground; and A capriccio with classical ruins and a centurion conversing with two figures, with a dog sold for GBP 110,500.00 (€ 139,375.24) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Andrea Locatelli have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Roman Forum in January 2012 with an auction result of USD 1,082,500.00 (€ 829,311.27).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Andrea Locatelli erzielte im Juli 2014 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale wurde die Arbeit A capriccio with classical ruins and figures resting by a fountain in the foreground; and A capriccio with classical ruins and a centurion conversing with two figures, with a dog für GBP 110.500,00 (€ 139.375,24) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 50.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Andrea Locatelli auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Roman Forum im Januar 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.082.500,00 (€ 829.311,27).
