Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by André Breton achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Paris in April this year. In the Art Impressionniste & Moderne auction, the work Où est Carthage ? sold for EUR 6,930.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by André Breton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Chanson-Objet in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 866,500.00 (€ 700,824.98).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von André Breton erzielte im April diesen Jahres bei Christies in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Art Impressionniste & Moderne wurde die Arbeit Où est Carthage ? für EUR 6.930,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von André Breton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Chanson-Objet im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 866.500,00 (€ 700.824,98).
