Auction result well in line with expectations

It changed hands for a price of GBP 875.00 (€ 1,172.98) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 700.00 – 900.00. Admittedly, works by Anatoly Shapovalov have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Before The Performance in May 2006 with an auction result of GBP 4,800.00 (€ 7,006.44).

Die Arbeit Lost In Thought von Anatoly Shapovalov kam im Januar 2008 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 875,00 (€ 1.172,98) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 700,00 – 900,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Anatoly Shapovalov auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Before The Performance im Mai 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.800,00 (€ 7.006,44).
