In the The Scholars Eye: Property from the Julius Held Collection Part II auction, the work Young Hercules and Chiron; Two studies of a young child resting her head in her hands; A portrait of a man with a moustache, in profile to the right sold for USD 2,250.00 (€ 1,757.26) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by Alphonse Legros have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Female Torso in December 2013 with an auction result of GBP 13,750.00 (€ 16,539.12).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Alphonse Legros erzielte im Januar 2009 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Scholars Eye: Property from the Julius Held Collection Part II wurde die Arbeit Young Hercules and Chiron; Two studies of a young child resting her head in her hands; A portrait of a man with a moustache, in profile to the right für USD 2.250,00 (€ 1.757,26) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.200,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alphonse Legros auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Female Torso im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.750,00 (€ 16.539,12).
