Auction result well in line with expectations

In April 2019 Phillips in New York held the auction Passion & Humanity: The Susie Tompkins Buell Collection, which included the work Glass Study by Alma Lavenson. It changed hands for a price of USD 27,500.00 (€ 24,551.38) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alma Lavenson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Self-Portrait, which sold at auction in October 2000 for USD 58,750.00 (€ 69,231.68).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im April 2019 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Passion & Humanity: The Susie Tompkins Buell Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Glass Study von Alma Lavenson zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 27.500,00 (€ 24.551,38) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Alma Lavenson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Self-Portrait beobachtet, die im Oktober 2000 für USD 58.750,00 (€ 69.231,68) versteigert wurde.
