Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2019 Phillips in New York held the auction Passion & Humanity: The Susie Tompkins Buell Collection, which included the work Consuelo Kanaga by Alma Lavenson. The price achieved of USD 3,750.00 (€ 3,347.92) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alma Lavenson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Self-Portrait in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 58,750.00 (€ 69,231.68).
