However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Allan Ramsay - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of Anne, Lady North (c. 1740-1797), wife of Frederick North, 2nd Baron North, three-quarter-length, in a pink dress and lace shawl with roses at her décolletage, and a lace headdress, by a column, which sold at auction in July 2008 for GBP 421,250.00 (€ 535,202.87).
