Auction result well in line with expectations

In April last year Bonhams in London held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work Portrait of a gentleman, half-length, in a grey coat by Allan Ramsay. The price achieved of GBP 5,737.50 (€ 6,841.77) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Allan Ramsay achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Anne, Lady North (c. 1740-1797), wife of Frederick North, 2nd Baron North, three-quarter-length, in a pink dress and lace shawl with roses at her décolletage, and a lace headdress, by a column in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 421,250.00 (€ 535,202.87).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im April letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman, half-length, in a grey coat von Allan Ramsay zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 5.737,50 (€ 6.841,77) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Allan Ramsay erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Anne, Lady North (c. 1740-1797), wife of Frederick North, 2nd Baron North, three-quarter-length, in a pink dress and lace shawl with roses at her décolletage, and a lace headdress, by a column im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 421.250,00 (€ 535.202,87).
