This artwork by Allan Ramsay achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in March 2017. In the Two Great Scottish Collections: Property from the Forbeses of Pitsligo and the Marquesses of Lothian auction, the work Portrait Of Clementina Maria Sophia Walkinshaw (1726-1802), Half-Length, Wearing A White Dress, A Blue Cloak, And Pearls In Her Hair sold for GBP 37,500.00 (€ 43,946.30) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Allan Ramsay achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Anne, Lady North (c. 1740-1797), wife of Frederick North, 2nd Baron North, three-quarter-length, in a pink dress and lace shawl with roses at her décolletage, and a lace headdress, by a column in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 421,250.00 (€ 535,202.87).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Allan Ramsay erzielte im März 2017 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Two Great Scottish Collections: Property from the Forbeses of Pitsligo and the Marquesses of Lothian wurde die Arbeit Portrait Of Clementina Maria Sophia Walkinshaw (1726-1802), Half-Length, Wearing A White Dress, A Blue Cloak, And Pearls In Her Hair für GBP 37.500,00 (€ 43.946,30) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Allan Ramsay erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Anne, Lady North (c. 1740-1797), wife of Frederick North, 2nd Baron North, three-quarter-length, in a pink dress and lace shawl with roses at her décolletage, and a lace headdress, by a column im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 421.250,00 (€ 535.202,87).
