Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2004 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Paintings, which included the work A Study by Allan Douglas Davidson. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,195.00 (€ 1,740.96) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by Allan Douglas Davidson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An English Yum-Yum: my lady lights the sombre day: A scene from The Mikado in July 2020 with an auction result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,731.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Study von Allan Douglas Davidson zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.195,00 (€ 1.740,96) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Allan Douglas Davidson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit An English Yum-Yum: my lady lights the sombre day: A scene from The Mikado im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 16.731,36).
