Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2010 Christies in London held the auction Victorian and British Impressionist Art, which included the work The artist's muse by Allan Douglas Davidson. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,368.10) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Allan Douglas Davidson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An English Yum-Yum: my lady lights the sombre day: A scene from The Mikado in July 2020 with an auction result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,731.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian and British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The artist's muse von Allan Douglas Davidson zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.125,00 (€ 1.368,10) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Allan Douglas Davidson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An English Yum-Yum: my lady lights the sombre day: A scene from The Mikado im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 16.731,36).
