The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,750.00 (€ 2,097.93), 17% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Allan Douglas Davidson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An English Yum-Yum: my lady lights the sombre day: A scene from The Mikado in July 2020 with an auction result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,731.36).
