In November 2018 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work Fruit de mer, no. 2 by Alicia Penalba. The »bidding war« ended at USD 23,750.00 (€ 20,975.01), 32% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Alicia Penalba have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ventisquero in March this year with an auction result of USD 107,100.00 (€ 98,509.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 32 % übertroffen
Im November 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fruit de mer, no. 2 von Alicia Penalba zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 23.750,00 (€ 20.975,01) und damit 32% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alicia Penalba auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ventisquero im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 107.100,00 (€ 98.509,93).
