In the True Connoisseurship: The Collection of Ezra & Cecile Zilkha auction, the work Etincelle sold for USD 27,720.00 (€ 23,200.54) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Alicia Penalba have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ventisquero in March this year with an auction result of USD 107,100.00 (€ 98,509.93).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Alicia Penalba erzielte im November 2020 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion True Connoisseurship: The Collection of Ezra & Cecile Zilkha wurde die Arbeit Etincelle für USD 27.720,00 (€ 23.200,54) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alicia Penalba auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ventisquero im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 107.100,00 (€ 98.509,93).
