Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Alice Neel could be acquired at Christies in New York in September last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Post-War to Present auction, the work Snow in Vermont changed hands for USD 150,000.00 (€ 153,327.20) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 220,000.00 – 280,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alice Neel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dr. Finger’S Waiting Room in May 2021 with an auction result of USD 3,030,000.00 (€ 2,484,828.60).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Alice Neel konnte im September letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Post-War to Present wechselte die Arbeit Snow in Vermont für USD 150.000,00 (€ 153.327,20) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 220.000,00 – 280.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alice Neel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dr. Finger’S Waiting Room im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.030.000,00 (€ 2.484.828,60).
