Sold at the upper estimate price
The work Geography=War by Alfredo Jaar was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2015. The auction ended at the price of USD 25,000.00 (€ 22,739.68), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 20,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfredo Jaar - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Refugee (Water), which sold at auction in November 2016 for USD 60,000.00 (€ 56,721.50).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Geography=War von Alfredo Jaar kam im Mai 2015 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 22.739,68) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 25.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Alfredo Jaar mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Refugee (Water) beobachtet, die im November 2016 für USD 60.000,00 (€ 56.721,50) versteigert wurde.
