Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work An English and a Gordon Setter on the point by Alfred William Strutt was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 420.00 (€ 356.23). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred William Strutt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A watched pot never boils in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 37,600.00 (€ 59,600.63).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit An English and a Gordon Setter on the point von Alfred William Strutt im November 2005 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 420,00 (€ 356,23) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alfred William Strutt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A watched pot never boils im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 37.600,00 (€ 59.600,63).
