Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2004 a collector was able to acquire the work In a Fix by Alfred William Strutt for AUD 41,825.00 (€ 24,437.00). This price was achieved in the auction THE JOHN SCHAEFFER COLLECTION AT RONA at Christies in Sydney and was even below the estimate range of AUD 50,000.00 – 80,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfred William Strutt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A watched pot never boils, which sold at auction in June 2000 for GBP 37,600.00 (€ 59,600.63).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai 2004 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit In a Fix von Alfred William Strutt für AUD 41.825,00 (€ 24.437,00) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion THE JOHN SCHAEFFER COLLECTION AT RONA bei Christies in Sydney erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 50.000,00 – 80.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Alfred William Strutt mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A watched pot never boils beobachtet, die im Juni 2000 für GBP 37.600,00 (€ 59.600,63) versteigert wurde.
