Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The hayfield by Alfred William Hunt was sold in the Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours including a Fine Collection of Old Master Prints auction at Christies in London in July 2021. The price achieved of GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,612.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred William Hunt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'When the leaves begin to turn' in June 2004 with an auction result of GBP 52,580.00 (€ 78,254.79).
