In July 2016 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite and British Impressionist Art, which included the work Rising mist, Loch Maree, Highlands by Alfred William Hunt. The auction ended at the price of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,823.24), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Alfred William Hunt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'When the leaves begin to turn' in June 2004 with an auction result of GBP 52,580.00 (€ 78,254.79).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Juli 2016 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite and British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Rising mist, Loch Maree, Highlands von Alfred William Hunt zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 17.823,24) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alfred William Hunt auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'When the leaves begin to turn' im Juni 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 52.580,00 (€ 78.254,79).
