Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2000 Christies in London held the auction SPORTING ART AND DOGS, which included the work Tom Firr on a grey hunter with two hounds in a landscape by Alfred Wheeler. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,055.00 (€ 4,993.28). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfred Wheeler - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Diamond Jubilee with jockey up by a post, which sold at auction in November 2002 for GBP 9,799.00 (€ 15,344.73).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion SPORTING ART AND DOGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Tom Firr on a grey hunter with two hounds in a landscape von Alfred Wheeler zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 3.055,00 (€ 4.993,28) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Alfred Wheeler mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Diamond Jubilee with jockey up by a post beobachtet, die im November 2002 für GBP 9.799,00 (€ 15.344,73) versteigert wurde.
