Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2004 a collector was able to acquire the work Ladas, with Jack Watts up by Alfred Wheeler for USD 4,780.00 (€ 3,530.80). This price was achieved in the auction Sporting Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Alfred Wheeler have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Diamond Jubilee with jockey up by a post in November 2002 with an auction result of GBP 9,799.00 (€ 15,344.73).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2004 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Ladas, with Jack Watts up von Alfred Wheeler für USD 4.780,00 (€ 3.530,80) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Sporting Art bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alfred Wheeler auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Diamond Jubilee with jockey up by a post im November 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.799,00 (€ 15.344,73).
