Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Duke of Beaufort's Petronelle and the Duke of Hamilton's Moonshine by Alfred Wheeler was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2007. The price achieved of GBP 3,240.00 (€ 4,767.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfred Wheeler - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Diamond Jubilee with jockey up by a post, which sold at auction in November 2002 for GBP 9,799.00 (€ 15,344.73).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.240,00 (€ 4.767,88) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Alfred Wheeler mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Diamond Jubilee with jockey up by a post beobachtet, die im November 2002 für GBP 9.799,00 (€ 15.344,73) versteigert wurde.
