Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2011 Christies in London held the auction Sporting & Wildlife Art, Including An Important Private Collection of works by Wilhelm Kuhnert and David Shepherd, which included the work Persimmon, with jockey up by Alfred Wheeler. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,694.69) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Alfred Wheeler have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Diamond Jubilee with jockey up by a post in November 2002 with an auction result of GBP 9,799.00 (€ 15,344.73).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Sporting & Wildlife Art, Including An Important Private Collection of works by Wilhelm Kuhnert and David Shepherd durch, in der auch die Arbeit Persimmon, with jockey up von Alfred Wheeler zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.694,69) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alfred Wheeler auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Diamond Jubilee with jockey up by a post im November 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.799,00 (€ 15.344,73).
