Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of USD 9,560.00 (€ 7,061.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfred Wheeler - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Diamond Jubilee with jockey up by a post, which sold at auction in November 2002 for GBP 9,799.00 (€ 15,344.73).
