The work Three Trees by Alfred Wallis was auctioned at Bonhams in London in June last year. It achieved a price of GBP 30,540.00 (€ 35,478.79), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 53%. Admittedly, works by Alfred Wallis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work St Ives Bay With Godrevy in May 2012 with an auction result of GBP 145,250.00 (€ 180,975.11).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 53 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Three Trees von Alfred Wallis kam im Juni letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 30.540,00 (€ 35.478,79) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 53%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alfred Wallis auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit St Ives Bay With Godrevy im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 145.250,00 (€ 180.975,11).
