Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Alfred Wallis achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in June last year. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work The Flying Scud sold for GBP 38,100.00 (€ 44,261.36) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by Alfred Wallis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work St Ives Bay With Godrevy in May 2012 with an auction result of GBP 145,250.00 (€ 180,975.11).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Alfred Wallis erzielte im Juni letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit The Flying Scud für GBP 38.100,00 (€ 44.261,36) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 18.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alfred Wallis auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit St Ives Bay With Godrevy im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 145.250,00 (€ 180.975,11).
