Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Alfred Wallis achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in June last year. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Mount's Bay with St Michael's Mount sold for GBP 120,000.00 (€ 139,405.86) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 50,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Alfred Wallis; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot St Ives Bay With Godrevy sold at auction in May 2012 with the realized price of GBP 145,250.00 (€ 180,975.11).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Alfred Wallis erzielte im Juni letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Mount's Bay with St Michael's Mount für GBP 120.000,00 (€ 139.405,86) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 50.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Alfred Wallis; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit St Ives Bay With Godrevy im Mai 2012 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 145.250,00 (€ 180.975,11).
