Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lugger In A Gale And A Lighthouse by Alfred Wallis was sold in the Modern & Post-War British Art auction at Sothebys in London in November 2020. The price achieved of GBP 6,300.00 (€ 7,032.93) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred Wallis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work St Ives Bay With Godrevy in May 2012 with an auction result of GBP 145,250.00 (€ 180,975.11).
