Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Alfred Wallis achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2020. In the Modern & Post-War British Art auction, the work Houses, Porthmeor Square sold for GBP 37,800.00 (€ 42,197.56) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by Alfred Wallis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work St Ives Bay With Godrevy in May 2012 with an auction result of GBP 145,250.00 (€ 180,975.11).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Alfred Wallis erzielte im November 2020 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Post-War British Art wurde die Arbeit Houses, Porthmeor Square für GBP 37.800,00 (€ 42.197,56) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 18.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alfred Wallis auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit St Ives Bay With Godrevy im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 145.250,00 (€ 180.975,11).
