In November last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction California Art, which included the work Boats in Harbor by Alfred R. Mitchell. The »bidding war« ended at USD 21,675.00 (€ 20,996.80), 45% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfred R. Mitchell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sunset glow, which sold at auction in August 2018 for USD 62,500.00 (€ 53,897.90).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 45 % übertroffen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion California Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Boats in Harbor von Alfred R. Mitchell zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 21.675,00 (€ 20.996,80) und damit 45% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Alfred R. Mitchell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sunset glow beobachtet, die im August 2018 für USD 62.500,00 (€ 53.897,90) versteigert wurde.
