Auction result well in line with expectations
In August this year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction California Art, which included the work Toward the Mountain and San Felipe Valley in Autumn (Foot of Banner Grade) (a group of two) by Alfred R. Mitchell. The price achieved of USD 4,096.00 (€ 3,778.95) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred R. Mitchell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sunset glow in August 2018 with an auction result of USD 62,500.00 (€ 53,897.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion California Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Toward the Mountain and San Felipe Valley in Autumn (Foot of Banner Grade) (a group of two) von Alfred R. Mitchell zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.096,00 (€ 3.778,95) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alfred R. Mitchell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sunset glow im August 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 53.897,90).
