Auction result well in line with expectations
In November this year Bonhams in Edinburgh held the auction California Art, which included the work Golden California by Alfred R. Mitchell. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 21,760.00 (€ 19,948.66) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfred R. Mitchell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sunset glow, which sold at auction in August 2018 for USD 62,500.00 (€ 53,897.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Edinburgh die Auktion California Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Golden California von Alfred R. Mitchell zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 21.760,00 (€ 19.948,66) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Alfred R. Mitchell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sunset glow beobachtet, die im August 2018 für USD 62.500,00 (€ 53.897,90) versteigert wurde.
