In April this year Bonhams held the auction California Art, which included the work Road Along a Riverbed by Alfred R. Mitchell. The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,925.00 (€ 8,084.24), 28% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Alfred R. Mitchell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sunset glow in August 2018 with an auction result of USD 62,500.00 (€ 53,897.90).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 28 % übertroffen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion California Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Road Along a Riverbed von Alfred R. Mitchell zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.925,00 (€ 8.084,24) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alfred R. Mitchell auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sunset glow im August 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 53.897,90).
