Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Alfred Basbous was auctioned at Bonhams in London in June 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 6,375.00 (€ 7,428.53). Admittedly, works by Alfred Basbous have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sensual in November this year with an auction result of GBP 50,400.00 (€ 58,402.64).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Alfred Basbous im Juni 2021 bei Bonhams in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 6.375,00 (€ 7.428,53) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alfred Basbous auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sensual im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 50.400,00 (€ 58.402,64).
