Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cedar by Alfred Basbous was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2020. It changed hands for a price of GBP 18,750.00 (€ 20,931.33) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfred Basbous - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sensual, which sold at auction in November this year for GBP 50,400.00 (€ 58,402.64).

Die Arbeit Cedar von Alfred Basbous kam im November 2020 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 18.750,00 (€ 20.931,33) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Alfred Basbous mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sensual beobachtet, die im November diesen Jahres für GBP 50.400,00 (€ 58.402,64) versteigert wurde.
