Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work 1345041010 by Alexandre da Cunha was auctioned at Christies in New York in August 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,375.00 (€ 1,151.98). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexandre da Cunha achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nude II in June 2016 with an auction result of GBP 40,000.00 (€ 48,013.05).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit 1345041010 von Alexandre da Cunha im August 2020 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.375,00 (€ 1.151,98) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alexandre da Cunha erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nude II im Juni 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 40.000,00 (€ 48.013,05).
