Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Village by Alexandre Altmann was sold in the Modern Art | New York auction at Sothebys in New York in December 2021. The price achieved of USD 5,670.00 (€ 5,009.72) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexandre Altmann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Russian The Florist Shop in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 127,000.00 (€ 81,577.60).
