Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Island, Gargantua Bay, Lake Superior by Alexander Young Jackson was sold in the Important Canadian Art auction at Sothebys in Toronto in November 2011. It changed hands for a price of CAD 21,600.00 (€ 15,741.20) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of CAD 18,000.00 – 22,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexander Young Jackson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work St. Tite-Des-Caps in June 2010 with an auction result of CAD 324,500.00 (€ 248,912.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Island, Gargantua Bay, Lake Superior von Alexander Young Jackson wurde im November 2011 in der Auktion Important Canadian Art bei Sothebys in Toronto versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von CAD 21.600,00 (€ 15.741,20) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von CAD 18.000,00 – 22.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alexander Young Jackson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit St. Tite-Des-Caps im Juni 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CAD 324.500,00 (€ 248.912,70).
